Bruce Weaver Attends 27th International Ventriloquists' ConVENTion

    Knoxville, PA July 2003 -- Ventriloquist Bruce Weaver of Knoxville, PA, recently attended the 27th International Ventriloquist' ConVENTion, held July 17-19 at the Drawbridge Inn and Convention Center in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky.
    "The Vent ConVENTion is a great place to learn and get advice from other talented ventriloquists," said Weaver. "It's the second year I've attended this annual event."
    The International Ventriloquists' ConVENTion is the largest and longest running ventriloquist convention in the world. It is also one of the few conventions where the professionals talk and share ideas and "bits of business" directly with other attendees.
    The 2003 ConVENTion attracted over 400 amateur and professional ventriloquists from around the world. The event included workshops, nightly performances, and tours of the near-by Vent Haven Museum, which houses the world's largest collection of "dummies" (600" and related paraphernalia.
    This year Weaver and his sidekick, Hector the Turkey, presented one of their routines, "Christmas in July", during the "Senior Open Mic" session. They were one of ten acts that had pre registered for the Thursday evening time slot. Each act was video taped and critiqued by a panel of professional vents.
    "It was a thrill to perform in front of such a unique audience and receive tips from the best in the business,: adds Bruce.
    The convention also features two large "dealer rooms" with over 25 suppliers of ventriloquist characters, props, how-to materials, collectibles, and more. This trade show for ventriloquists has more places to buy vent related products than anywhere in the world.
