Ventriloquist Bruce Weaver and his cast of zany characters present a school assembly program that introduces students to the fascinating art of ventriloquism, emphasizes the importance of reading, and promotes the resources of the school and public libraries.
The program, "Readig is Magic", includes several characters, magic, singing, and lots of laughs. The audience helps Chester Hound as he learns about his special abilities and discovers that books are to be read. The students will learn that following directions is very important, especially when performing a magic trick. Edgar decides that he'll be a "Dr. Seuss Character" for the day. Gus the Bird shows there's more to animal training than reading a book. It also takes patience. And Aunt Gabby shares a letter from her nephew Joey and sings a library rap song. The 40 minute show is a fast paced blend of ventriloquism, magic, singing, audience participation, and fun with a message, "Learn to Read and you'll surely Succeed".

The cost of a school show ranges from $250 to $450. The number of students and distance to the school are the primary factors affecting the cost. Special rates are available for more than one show on the same day in the same district or general area and for multiple shows on the same day at one school.
