Bruce first performed his ventriloquist act at the age
of 10 with his pal, Jerry Mahoney, a Christmas gift.
A picture of Bruce and Jerry entertaining at his eighth
grade class party is included in "Dummy
Days".
He is a graduate of the Maher Studios Course of Ventriloquism.
He has been performing professionally since 1982.
He has performed at schools, county fairs, churches,
libraries, camping resorts, scouting events, banquets, clubs, and senior
citizen groups all over North Central Pennsylvania and South Central New
York.
In addition he performed during "open mic" at the 2003
and 2004 Vent Haven International Ventriloquist
ConVENTions.
(An annual event held in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky that attracts over
400 ventriloquists from around the world.)
His cast of characters has grown to over 20.
Bruce has been an active member of the Yoked Churches of Knoxville (United Methodist and First Baptist worshipping together) for over 25 years. He has served on and been chairperson of the Worship and Education Teams as well as the Moderator of the Yoked Church Council. He teaches Sunday School and is a member of the Church Choir.
Bruce and his "friends" have been a part of the Yoked Churches' Sunday School and Vacation Bible School several times over the years. He has also led the congregation in worship on numerous occasions with the help of his "friends".
Bruce retired in June of 2005, after 35 years of teaching
fifth & sixth grade at the Westfield Area Elementary School, Westfield,
PA.
He's the founder and advisor of the Westfield Elementary
Newspaper (1976-2005).
Founder and advisor of the Cowanesque Valley School Amateur
Radio Club (1994-2005).
His Pearl
Harbor Survivors Project that started as an amateur radio contact resulted
in a gathering of Pearl Harbor Survivors at the Westfield Elem. School
that drew national media coverage by CNN in 1991.

Bruce is a free lance writer for children's magazines
and teacher's publications. His "Aunt Gabby" poems, stories, and
articles have appeared in Boys' Quest, Kids' Highway,
and
Fun For Kidz. The June 2005 issue of Boys'
Quest includes Aunt Gabby's "Official Rules for Backyard Baseball"
article. Bruce has also had articles appear in Creative Classroom,
Teaching
PreK-8, and soon in CQ Amateur Radio.
